Global Warming loses one of it’s biggest icons

In Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth, we see pictures of the peak of Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro.   It’s been made into the poster child of photographic evidence that Earth’s temperatures have risen to an unhealthy degree. 

“Kilimanjaro is a grossly overused mis-example of the effects of climate change,” said University of Washington climate scientist Philip Mote, co-author of an article in the July/August issue of American Scientist magazine

And this isn’t a guy who’s is against the global warming theories:

He hastens to add that global warming is, indeed, responsible for the fact that nearly every other glacier around the globe is melting away. Kilimanjaro just happens to be the worst possible case study.

On Kilimanjaro, ice loss seems to be driven by two factors: a lack of snowfall and sublimation, the same process that causes freezer burn by sucking moisture out of leftovers

And how about this for irony:

Models predict global warming will increase rainfall in Eastern Africa, which could actually be the thing that saves the “shining mountain’s” snowy crown.

If you read the full article, you’ll see that all of the scientists are afraid of this being used as a global warming ‘debunk’ article. They don’t feel that way, they feel that through research, we have to find out what’s happening across the Earth. Me personally, I see too much evidence that doesn’t support the theory of man-made global warming. But I do know one thing, this is why you study and draw conclusions, so that way, you’re not following a doom and gloom predictions with little facts other than the Earth’s temp has risen by a fraction of a degree.

In fact, I just came acrosss this article written by the President of the Czech Republic, Victor Klaus.  This is a tremendous article written by a man who is not only the leader of his country, but also a man who lived under Communist USSR. 

The author Michael Crichton stated it clearly: “the greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda”. I feel the same way, because global warming hysteria has become a prime example of the truth versus propaganda problem. It requires courage to oppose the “established” truth, although a lot of people – including top-class scientists – see the issue of climate change entirely differently. They protest against the arrogance of those who advocate the global warming hypothesis and relate it to human activities

I’ve been saying this all along, no one is arguing the temerature has risen. What we’re arguing is mankind’s cause and the eco-idiocy which has been nothing more than taxes, control, and regulation.
