What exactly is the Senate voting for on Immigration?

I think this is the prime example of ineffective leadership.  The Senate, both Republicans and Democrats, are no longer voting for the American people.  A proposed immigration overhaul was defeated today in the Senate.  What per say, was this important legislation that our Senator’s felt should not be included in the bill?

THE BARRING OF FELONS, INCLUDING THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN COURT ORDERED TO BE DEPORTED, FROM GAINING LEGAL STATUS!!! (this is not a link)

This is the ultimate in ‘my head is about to explode’ incompetence that is the US Senate.  I would like to see how anyone on the right or left could argue that this is good, sound minded legislation.  We have shot down the attempt to bar criminals from hurting our country and our children.

Democrats succeeded in pulling support from Cornyn’s proposal by winning adoption of a rival version that would bar a more limited set of criminals, including certain gang members and sex offenders, from gaining legalization. The Senate backed that amendment 66-32.

Well, I’m really glad we have a ‘more limited set of criminals’ that we’ve decided to ban. This is borderline insanity. You can read the story here
