Even Cosby is struggling to help Philly

Bill Cosby was in Philadelphia yesterday, marching to try and stop the violence that is ravaging the city.   The city once known as the “The City of Brotherly Love” is now simply known as “The Deadliest City in America”.  Cosby marched through the streets and then put on an interactive speech which drove home the seriousness of the issue with some of Cosby’s comedy sprinkled in.   Problem is, how many speeches is it going to take before somebody takes action?

Last year, Philadelphia had the highest murder rate, with 406 murders in 2006. In 2007, they are ahead of that pace, making this one of the most deadly years ever in the city thus far. And things did not change much before, during, and after the speech. Last night, in the Germantown section, 2 more people were gunned down. And as I write this, the Upper Merion Regional high school has been evacuated after 2 former students, who made threats against the school, were found inside the building.
